As befits one of the world’s leading entertainment providers, Sony is proud of its association with a sport that unites the world.
Building up to the FIFA World Cup™
As sponsors of Australia's mighty Qantas Socceroos, we'll be supporting our brand ambassadors Tim Cahill and Lucas Neill and the rest of the team all the way to South Africa and throughout the finals. And through our relationship with official World Cup broadcaster SBS, we’ll be helping bring all the action to Australian TV screens in the highest quality.
Key (South African time zone) dates to make a note of are:
- Friday 11 June – opening match (Soccer City, Johannesburg)
- Friday 2 July and Saturday 3 July, Quarter Finals (Johannesburg, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth)
- Tuesday 6 July and Wednesday 7 July, Semi Finals (Cape Town and Durban)
- Sunday 11 July 2010 FIFA World Cup Final (Soccer City, Johannesburg)
We now know that our first adversaries are Germany (13 June), Ghana (19 June) and Serbia (23 June), and we’ve certainly got our work cut out. It’s a tough draw but our boys will be up to the challenge.
