Sony is well aware of our obligations regarding the recovery of materials from products that have reached the end of their lives, and the recycling of those assets in an environmentally sound manner.
We address this responsibility through membership of Product Stewardship Australia Limited (PSA). PSA is a not-for-profit, industry-led organisation which develops national solutions in the area of recovery and recycling, with a particular focus on TVs.
It is planned to broaden the initiatives to embrace other electronics categories in the future.
As a founding member of PSA, we help raise awareness of these issues and encourage positive action among Australian consumers about how to dispose of products appropriately. This important work is carried out in collaboration with federal and state governments, local and regional councils, waste collectors and recyclers, industry associations, retailers and distributors.
