Freeview
More channels, more moments, for free.
What is Freeview?
Australia is switching from analogue to digital television broadcasting. Freeview is the brand name for the collection of digital TV channels from Australia’s free-to-view networks. Freeview is owned by the ABC, SBS, Seven, Nine, TEN, Southern Cross, Prime and WIN.

Freeview represents Australian’s right to watch quality television for free. Freeview wants to encourage Australians to switch to free-to-view digital television by promoting it benefits including more channels and more moments, for free.

Freeview provides high definition viewing with more channels, including a 24hr Sports channel*, for free. And because Freeview channels are digital, you get a better viewing experience: brilliant picture and superior sound. There are no ongoing costs or subscription fees.
How do I get Freeview?
To start watching Freeview now, you need a high definition digital television. Or, simply connect your analogue or standard definition television to a high definition set top box or other high definition digital device. If you already have one of these, you’re ready to go.

Look out for products marked with the Freeview logo when purchasing equipment. The full 2009 range of Sony BRAVIA models are Freeview compliant.
*Available in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide with further roll out expected.
