Experience Gran Turismo® 5 as the Creator Intended

One of the most anticipated games of all time, Gran Turismo® 5 (GT5), has just hit stores and only BRAVIA has the picture and sound quality in 2D and 3D to enjoy the gaming experience the way game developers Polyphony Digital intended.

Providing unparalleled picture quality, the BRAVIA 3D TV range allows gamers to truly immerse themselves in the action. Coupled with the only 3D-ready gaming console in Australia, PlayStation®3, Sony offers a whole new way to experience stereoscopic 3D gaming.

BRAVIA is equipped with a function known as 'Scene Select', which automatically changes picture settings to accelerate the fast paced nature of PlayStation®3 gaming. With the enhanced settings for GT5, you can tune your BRAVIA to enjoy the highest quality gaming experience simply using the TV remote controller.

Audio output is also adjusted to provide a virtual surround sound field, allowing gamers to experience the crystal clear sounds of roaring engines as if you were on a real life race track.

BRAVIA Game Tuning: a step by step guide.

  1. 1. Using the TV remote controller, select the input you have chosen to connect your PlayStation®3 so the PlayStation menu is on-screen.

For best results use a HDMI cable to connect your PlayStation®3.

    2. Press the 'SCENE' button on the TV remote controller. From the icons shown on screen, select the Game option, using the directional keys. Press enter (centre part of the directional keys) to enable the Game settings.

The SCENE button is located in the top section of your BRAVIA remote controller.

Note: Remote and screen display may vary by model.

    3. Once enabled, your BRAVIA is tuned for PlayStation®3 gaming and ready for you to enjoy a heightened gaming experience. Picture settings are automatically adjusted to suit the rich graphics and colours found in the latest generation of PlayStation games, whilst forgoing colour, contrast and other picture adjustments applied when viewing television or movies. Audio is also adjusted to suit the often fast paced nature of gaming, creating a more dynamic listening environment.

Further Tuning Tips:

Because we all view the world differently, and use our televisions in different environments, the following tuning options are also available:

  1. 1. Backlight control
Playing GT5 in a dark room or gaming in a brightly lit environment can benefit from some backlight adjustment. Think of backlight adjustment as tuning the overall screen brightness, to achieve a comfortable balance of light and colour.

Press the OPTIONS key (this is found near the directional keys on the remote controller) From the onscreen list of options, select PICTURE then BACKLIGHT (default backlight setting is '7').

Press enter and using the on-screen slider control, adjust the backlight to suit your eyes and lighting conditions.

    2. Game-Original mode
Because Game mode is designed to heighten graphics and colour reproduction some gamers may wish to ‘dial-down’ the picture enhancements. Game-Original mode can be chosen for a warmer, more subtle effect.

After selecting GAME from the Scene Select instructions above, press the OPTIONS key. From the onscreen list shown, select Picture, then Picture mode Game-Standard. Once selected, this enables a choice of either Game-Standard or Game-Original.

Note: Scene selection and other adjustments are applied to the input in use (for example, the PlayStation connected to the BRAVIA) returning to TV viewing, or another video source will not result in settings influencing these video sources. When viewing movies using your PlayStation®3 press the SCENE button and select GENERAL or CINEMA for best results.

To check and adjust picture settings further, refer to the settings table below:
