Sony has introduced a new compact, lightweight
professional camcorder, the HVR-V1P, further enhancing its range of
professional HDV products. Like the existing industry proven HVR-Z1P
and HVR-A1P, the HVR-V1P offers ground breaking innovative features
for the film and documentary maker.

The HDV* format has been specifically designed to record HD images on to DV specific tapes. Adopting the MPEG-2 compression format and using 8-bit digital recording at aprox 25Mb/s, (same data rate as DVCAM/DV format|) enables a long recording time on DV cassettes.

Thanks to the 3 ClearVid CMOS Sensor system
and EIP, the HVR-V1P supports 25p progressive scan mode, in addition
to popular 50i. The 25p signal is recorded as a 50i signal by dividing
each frame into two fields.

This winning combination offers the user simultaneous recording on tape as well as the HDD (HVR-DR60). Configured with the HVR-DR60 the user can immediately reap the benefits of high-speed transfer of either .m2t or AVI Type 1 direct to a PC, saving precious time spent digitising content.

Alongside its many innovations, the HVR-V1P
is the first HDV camcorder to incorporate "3 ClearVid CMOS Sensor" system
for optimum picture quality. Coupled with Sony's Enhaced Imaging Processor
(EIP) which internally process signals at 1920 x 1080 4:2:2 colour space
along with, high sensitivity, low noise and wide dynamic range enables
the HVR-V1P to deliver unparallel HD images.

Expertly engineered for superb operating ease
and optimum mobility, this compact camcorder is a masterpiece of balanced,
functional design.
