The NEX-VG20 features a 16.1-megapixel Exmor™ APS HD CMOS Sensor with an imaging area that is 19.5 times larger than the sensors used in conventional camcorders. This enables you to achieve dramatic background defocusing effects that are unmatched by smaller sensors. The large sensor also offers high sensitivity and lower noise, capturing impressive moving images.

These lenses boast advanced optical designs that can deliver big-camera image quality and features in surprisingly compact packages.

An E 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 OSS E-mount zoom lens comes standard in the NEX-VG20. You can count on an 11x optical zoom range, Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilisation with an advanced Active mode and a quiet AF motor for cleaner sound recording and clearer videos.

If you want even more ways to express your creativity, choose the optional LA-EA2 mount adaptor with Translucent Mirror Technology. You’ll be able to make use of a wide range of A-mount lenses* with uncompromised full-time continuous AF performance.

The grip strap has also been enlarged to offer you the greatest comfort and stability.
Remote Commander The supplied wireless remote commander provides access to the main recording and playback functions, from a remote location. 2nd REC Button Two start/stop buttons are strategically located for comfortable, stress-free operation in a variety of shooting positions. Expanded Focus If AF doesn't lock onto the subject you can switch to manual mode and use the one-touch Expanded Focus function to focus at 4x magnification via the monitor or viewfinder. 3.0" Xtra Fine Touch Panel LCD This "Xtra Fine" 3.0 type LCD monitor with 920,000 dot resolution faithfully reproduces subject detail and colour while functioning as a touch-panel for efficient, intuitive operation. Assignable Control Dial An assignable control dial enables easy, rapid adjustment of manual exposure settings such as iris, shutter speed, and gain, for maximum creative control in any situation. Stable & Versatile Grip The grip fits intimately into the palm of the hand with the camera in shooting position, and the large strap offers the greatest possible stability and comfort for all users.

Extended Video Recording Time With the NEX-VG20, video recording isn't restricted by any time limit. In fact, you can record for as long as there is enough memory capacity. To extend your video recording time, simply use high-capacity memory cards. Go ahead and shoot those long concerts or theatrical performances with your NEX-VG20.	Two Types of Memory Cards Slots Besides the Memory Stick PRO Duo (Mark 2) and Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo-type memory cards, the NEX-VG20 supports a number of SD card types. So you'll enjoy the utmost convenience and versatility when recording.	Headphone Jack The headphone jack allows direct headphone monitoring of the sound being recorded through the Quad Capsule Spatial Array Microphone. This makes it easy to ensure that you'll record top-quality sound that matches the visual images.
