These headphones are awesome!

WH-CH510 26 October 2019 by BrianSoCal (USA)

Let me do some background for you. I am an audiophile and have owned countless MDR V600's plus 5 MDR 7506's over the past 24 years. Before buying these headphones through Google Shopping, there were certain things I wanted: 1. Over the ear sizing 2. Great Price 3. No Noise cancelling 4. The longest battery life 5. Only a few simple buttons 6. Light weight 7. Something easy to use I found everything I needed in this headphone. Paid under $44 total for a new pair received last night in the mail. I thought that Over the Ear sizing would be a requirement. However, I changed my mind with the Sony WH CH 510. The On Ear sizing is just fine for me. My ears don't sweat like they did with my over the ear headphone that I once used. I had been through previous blue tooth headphones by Audio Technica, Bose, and Best Buy brand. I returned all those models back to the stores. This by far is the winner. It is very light weight. I love the buttons, 3 for Vol. up, down, and take/hang up a call. The call button also turns the unit on or off. It works great. When you need to charge it (after 35 hours of use! Holy cow.), you simply use the supplied USB to USB C cable and connect it to a usb power adapter. Charge it overnight and you will be set by morning. The CH 510's will tell you when the power is going on or off, so you know for sure its doing what it is supposed to. These are Bluetooth 5 and ready for future devices that are Bluetooth 5 and below too. I have a Bluetooth 4.2 phone and it works good. My advice for controlling volume and taking/hanging up phone calls is to use the on board right ear cup buttons. I am able to walk around my small apt and have great coverage too. No interruptions. I mostly listen or watch youtube, watch web videos, listen to iHeart and make calls. If this is what you need then go for it. I hear there is a break in time for the headphones, so wait a few weeks for the sound to rough out. This happens to all headphones. Out of the box the headphones sound great to me! Thank You Sony for making a great headphone for a great price! Brian So. Cal.

"It's all in your head!"

WH-CH510 29 September 2019 by Fulkingmarc1 (United Kingdom)

When the Sony WH-CH510 headphones arrived, they appeared a little plasticky, but, instead of being a problem, it helps to keep the product lightweight and hardly noticeable when you are wearing them. Having charged them up, they were extremely easy to pair with my phone and when I switched them on a female voice told me that they were on, bluetooth was connected and also let me know that they were fully charged, which is a nice feature. I have used them for about two hours and "she" still informs me that they are fully charged which fits in with the 35 hour playback time, as advertised. In terms of music quality, the bass is very impressive for headphones at this price point, but not to the detriment of the clarity, which is also of high quality. The controls are easily accessible and function as you would expect. When listening to music and you switch to a different sound file, the headphones seamlessly switch to the new source and, when it has finished, reverts back to what you were listening to before, without the need to press any buttons, which makes for good ease of use. In summary, with their lightweight design and functionality, they are very unobtrusive and it really is as if "it's all in your head!"

Much Better Than Expected

WH-CH510 26 September 2019 by occasionalstan (United Kingdom)

I fully expected these to be quite poor considering they are so reasonably priced as I am a fan of high res audio and quite expensive headphones. I have to say I was pleasantly suprised. Looks & Feel: The build quality and feel is not top end but better than I thought it would be and these look good and more expensive than they should with some nice patterning (I have the black ones). My only gripe is that they could do with some padding on the overhead band for people without much hair (me!) this didn't bother my daughters though. The longest I wore them was for three hours straight and they were comfortable and relatively cool on my ears. My daughter is going to buy a pair of white ones after trying these out so they must be appealing to the youth also. They are nicely lightweight and the cups swivel inwards but I would have liked to have seen a carry case with them however for this price you have to be realistic. Ease of use: Very easy to use and pair. On the box flap there is a visual guide to pairing the headphones and it was all I needed. They worked perfectly with my Xperia, a Nokia 8, an iPhone 8, iPad, Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung Galaxy Tablet and two seperate PCs with no issues to pairing at all. The buttons are reasonably intuitive having only three, one (raised button) for power on & off, play & pause and answering & ending calls. The other two are for volume up & down and skip tracks backwards & forwards. Also something that needs a mention is the range of these headphones is really good I got about forty feet with some thick walls inbetween. Sound quality: This was the most suprising element for me as I didn't think it would be particularly good but I was very wrong. The sound is really strong and clear with the only real issues being the definition, seperation of some of the instruments/sounds and the feeling of real depth in songs (I'm being picky by comparing them to some top end wired headphones). They don't cater for aptX HD so don't expect miracles but they certainly hold their own. One of my favourite test tracks is 'Here Comes The King' by Snoop Lion and the distortion of the bass drop at 1min 7s and overall feel of the track is dealt with admirably for headphones at £50. Battery life: The claim is that they last for 35hrs of listening, I am at about 10 - 12 now and they tell me they are at 70% so probably supporting that claim.

Great sound quality, easy to use

WH-CH510 19 September 2019 by Drew2 (United Kingdom)

The Sony CH510 wireless headphones received and up and running in minutes, connected to my Samsung phone no problem at all. Played a wide variety of music from albums and my playlists and was impressed by clarity of sound and range, particularly where crystal clear vocals required. Quiet outside the 'phones so wouldn't annoy anyone. Simple controls and confirmed by audio from 'phones on action taken. Haven't tested how long they last on full USB charge but if they last the specified number of hours a very useful period indeed. Very pleased!.

As good as more expensive headsets

WH-CH510 15 September 2019 by Hannah41 (United Kingdom)

When first opening the box I was impressed by how light these new head phones were, and after giving them a full charge I was ready to use the headset. I would mention at this point, that the USB connecting lead was very short. When charging them from a computer I suppose the lead was OK. However with more household electrical sockets containing USB points, a longer lead would have been more desirable. The connection by blue tooth was very easy and fast and I soon had the head set working. The stereo sound was really fantastic and all the controls easy to use. Hands free calling was an added bonus, and although I did not need it the voice assist was there if needed. Being able to use the headset for 35 hours of music play back is welcome, as is the ten minute charge for 90 minutes play. Despite using for a long period I found it was comfortable on the ears. I would lastly mention that the swiveling heads allowed easy storage. My impression overall is that the headset is a very good piece of audio equipment and would be appreciated by anyone purchasing them.
