Look into the viewfinder from straight ahead to help the display switch.
NOTE: When the viewfinder is up and the monitor is open, e.g. for low angle shooting, and the FINDER/MONITOR is set to Auto, the image is displayed on the screen only.
If the display does not switch properly in Auto mode, you can lock the display to the viewfinder by applying the following settings:
- If you set FINDER/MONITOR in Custom Settings to Viewfinder, the viewfinder will always be turned on when the viewfinder is popped up.
In addition, if you set Function for VF close in Setup to Not Power OFF, the display will switch to the monitor while the camera remains on when you stow the viewfinder, and the display will switch to the viewfinder when you pop it up.
