    Q1. What is Alexa?
    A1. Alexa is Amazon‘s cloud-based voice service.

    Q2. What can I do with the Amazon Alexa function on Sound Bar?
    A2. You can operate the sound bar through voice commands on Amazon Alexa equipped devices (Amazon Echo, etc.).
    Operations available on Amazon Alexa of the sound bar include the following.

    • Playback/Stop music.
    • Previous/Next track.
    • Volume control.

    Operations including the power on/off operation, USB content playback, input switching, and sound mode switching are unavailable on the Amazon Alexa function.
     

    Q3. What else is required to use the Amazon Alexa function?
    A3. 

    • Amazon Alexa device.
      Devices similar to Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Plus etc.
    • Mobile device.
      Device that can connect to Google Play or App Store to perform initial setup with an Amazon Alexa equipped device (Amazon Echo, etc.).
    • Home network with Wi-Fi capabilities.
    • Music center app. 
    • Amazon account.

    NOTES: 

    • To use the Amazon Alexa function, the software of the system must be updated to its latest version.
    • A smartphone is required to perform initial setup with an Amazon Alexa equipped device (Amazon Echo, etc.).
       

    Q4. What music services (streaming services) are available that is compatible with the Amazon Alexa function?
    A4. Compatible music services include the following.

    Australia and New Zealand: Music, Spotify, TuneIn, iHeartRadio, Deezer.
    India: Amazon Music, TuneIn, Saavn.

    NOTES:

    • Depending on the music service, you may be required to perform settings to activate the account link and skills on the Amazon Alexa app.
    • Playback instructions and input switching instructions for contents on the USB are unavailable.
    • Spotify cannot be played on Alexa Multi-Room Music.

    Q5. Can I use Amazon Alexa functions without Amazon Alexa equipped devices (Amazon Echo, etc.)?
    A5. Amazon Alexa equipped devices (Amazon Echo, etc.) are required to use Amazon Alexa functions.
    For this reason, Amazon Alexa functions are unavailable at countries and regions where Amazon Alexa equipped devices (Amazon Echo, etc.) are not sold.


    How to use Amazon Alexa with Sound Bar

    Q1. How to perform initial setup to use the Amazon Alexa function.
    A1. Install the Music Center app to your smartphone and perform settings by following the instructions on the screen.
    NOTE: To use the Amazon Alexa function, the firmware (software) of the Sound Bar must be updated to its latest version.

    See the following for setting procedures.

    1. Install the Music Center app to your smartphone.
    2. Connect the smartphone and sound bar to the same network.
    3. Run the Music Center app.
    4. Perform initial setup following the Music Center app screen.

    Q2. How should I give voice commands when using the Amazon Alexa function? 
    A2. You must give preset voice commands to Amazon Alexa equipped devices (Amazon Echo, etc.).

    NOTE: This is in the case "Sound Bar" is set as the device name.

    • Play music on the "Sound bar".
    • Play some Jazz music on the "Sound bar".
    • Play Bruno Mars on the "Sound bar".
    • Turn up the volume on the "Sound bar".
    • Turn down the volume on the "Sound bar".
    • Stop the music on the "Sound bar".
    • Play on the "Sound bar".
    • Play song on the "Sound bar".
    • Stop on the "Sound bar".
    • Next on the "Sound bar".
    • Previous on the "Sound bar".
    • Pause on the "Sound bar".
    • Pause music on the "Sound bar".

    NOTE: The device name can be set freely, but since the recognition accuracy of the Amazon.com, Inc. service may change depending on the device name, so we recommend using "Sound Bar" as the device name.

    Q3. How to cancel an Amazon Alexa registration?
    A3. Sign out from the Alexa setting of the Music Center app.

    Q4. How to play Multi-Room Music with the Amazon Alexa function?
    A4. Perform the following operations.

    1. Run the Amazon Alexa app.
    2. Create "Multi-Room Music Speaker Group" from Amazon Alexa device settings and register the sound bar. 

    Troubleshooting

    Q1. There was no response from Amazon Alexa equipped devices (Amazon Echo, etc.) even though I used preset voice commands. 
    Q2. Initial setup of the Music Center app fails.  
    Q3. The Alexa doesn't discover the Sound bar after initial setup of the Music Center app.
    Q4. The Amazon Alexa (Amazon Echo, etc.) cannot recognize the Sound bar. (The Sound bar is offline).

    Q5. I cancelled the sound bar registration from the Amazon Alexa app, but the sound bar doesn't enter the cancelled state.
    A5. Sign out from the Alexa setting of the Music Center app.

    Q6. Music services such as Deezer, GimmeRadio, Saavn do not play correctly.
    A6. There is a possibility that the sound bar software version is not updated to its latest version. Please update the software to its latest version.

    Q7. The song information is not displayed correctly on the playback screen of the device while Amazon Alexa Multi-Room Music is playing.
    A7. Depending on the devices and music services that compose Alexa Multi-Room Music, the song data may not be offered.
    In this case, the song information will not be displayed on the playback screen or the information of the previous song may remain on the playback screen.
