How to restore Registry with Registry Checker in Windows 98?

Procedure:

1. Chose Command Prompt Only mode in Startup Menu.

2. Input [Scandisk] like following C:\>Scandisk and press Enter.

3 If no problem is found, run Registry Checker.

C:\scanreg /restore and press Enter.

Select the closest date from when you restored the system. If you are not sure the date or have not restored yet, select the closest date from when you purchased.
Note:
If you restore the Registry, you may not be able to use devices or applications installed after this date. On this case, you may have to reinstall the drivers or the applications to register the information in Registry again.

If the problem still remains after running this program, we strongly recommend restoring the whole system with Product Recovery CD-ROM.
Note: Backup every data you need before you restore the system. Sony does not take any responsibility about losing data that is caused by restoring the system.
