Dolby Digital Plus sound does not output from the device connected with the optical digital cable.

When receiving the Dolby Digital Plus audio, the TV is designed to mute audio from the DIGITAL AUDIO (OPTICAL) OUT jack.

NOTES:

• If you wish to listen to sounds with Dolby Digital Plus, connect the HDMI ARC or HDMI eARC jacks on the TV and the output target device with an HDMI cable.  
• When you use an optical digital cable to connect the devices, you can listen to sounds as Dolby Digital with the steps below.
  1. Set the TV's speaker output setting to Audio system.
     1. Press the HOME button on the remote control.
     2. Select  Settings.
     3. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
        • Select Display & Sound — Audio output — Speakers — Audio system.
        • Select Sound — Speakers — Audio system.
  2. Set the Dolby Digital Plus output setting to Dolby Digital.
     1. Press the HOME button on the remote control.
     2. Select  Settings.
     3. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
        • Select Display & Sound — Audio output — Dolby Digital Plus output — Dolby Digital.
        • Select Sound — Sound Adjustments or Sound — Advanced settings — Input related or Common — Dolby Digital Plus output — Dolby Digital.
