How to tune or retune Sony's Android TV (Analogue/Cable/Terrestrial Guide)?

    The below procedure applies to all Sony's Android televisions. However, depending on your TV model, slight differences between the layout of the remote control and the menu interface may occur.

    Use the arrow buttons on your remote to navigate around the TV menu.Select options by pressing the "plus" button. This is the round button in the centre of the circular Menu area of your remote.

     

    Analog tuning

    1. Press the [HOME] button of your remote controller.
    2. Go to the  Settings menu, located at the bottom of the Home screen.

      For Android 8.0 (Oreo) and Android™ 9 (Pie), the settings icon is located in the upper right corner.

    3. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
      • Select Watching TVChannels → Channel Setup Auto Tuning →Analog. (Android™ 9)
      • Select Channel SetupAnalog SetupAnalog Auto Program Setting. (Android 8.0 or earlier)
    4. When asked "Do you want to start Auto Tuning?", select Yes.
      The TV will now start tuning. A confirmation message will appear once completed.

    Digital tuning

    1. Press the [HOME] button of your remote controller.
    2. Go to the  Settings menu, located at the bottom of the Home screen.

    3. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
      • Select Watching TVChannels → Channel Setup Auto Tuning →Digital. (Android™ 9)
      • SelectChannel SetupDigital SetupDigital TuningDigital Auto Tuning. (Android 8.0 or earlier)
    4. When asked "Do you want to start Auto Tuning?", select Yes.
    5. Make your selection between Antenna or Cable.
      When selecting Antenna the auto tuning for Antenna starts at this point
    6. If Cable was selected in the previous step, the menu for Cable tuning will now appear.
      You may choose to set Scan Type, Frequency or Network ID manually according to specific network parameters, received from your broadcast provider.
       

      If you have not received anything, we recommend to use the default settings.

      Scan type: Quick scan
      Frequency: Auto
      Network ID: Auto
      Operator: Select the name of your broadcast provider from the list

      If the scan does not find any or all channels, you may try to change the Scan Type setting to Full scan.
      IMPORTANT: It may take an hour, or longer, when selecting Full scan to tune your TV.

    7. Proceed by selecting Start.

    The TV will now start tuning. A confirmation message will appear once completed.

    Note: 

    • If you have problems searching for cable TV channels, please contact your service provider as they may use other options.
    • If channels are missing, it may be because your provider no longer offers these. Please contact your provider for further information.
