I've been using it as a telephoto lens when I want more detail and compression in my landscapes. It produces beautiful images and I love the all metal construction.

Recently purchased this lens to go with my newly aquired Sony a7v. What a great combination, although I have only had it a couple of weeks I can see trhis lens been put to good use over the coming months.

I bought this lens to try out portrait photography. Didn't expect an 85mm can give me so much of different perspectives. 85mm F1.8 and such a light lens. Image quality is superb plus it's affordability.

Price match gave me the opportunity to purchase direct from Sony. Love the lens so far. Light, compact, fast to focus and great results. Paired with a7CII it feels well balanced. An aperture ring would make the lens a perfect choice.

I think This is gonna be lovely, but I don’t know how to use it properly so I really don’t know. I’ve been using it to take photos of the puppies I’ve been breeding, and I haven’t got the lighting right.

Have had the 85mm f1.8 for a little while now. It’s great on my Sony a7cii as a lightweight portrait set up. I often take photos around my school of students in class and of students who need portraits for the school data base. This is a great portable set up and the lens creates great separation from background activities or work up on the walls to create a stunning school based portrait.

I love this lens, I am not a photographer making $ from photography so I opted not to buy the GM 1.4. This lens does everything I would like for it to do and more, particulary paired with the Sony A7RV

Great lens for portraits. Bokeh quite good even from a distance. Only issue some people may not like some cats eye bokeh but it looks fine to me.

I use this lens mainly for street photography and find it great even wide open. Probably one of the best-value lens that I have in my collection. It is a lens that I would highly recommend

I bought this with the intention of using it for macro photography and it is proving useful for product photography. The clarity of a Sony prime lens is unmatched, in my opinion.
