How to replace the ring rubber on the lens (SEL1635GM / SEL2470GM)

    Before you start

    What you need:

    • A replacement zoom ring rubber or focus ring rubber
    • A disassembling tool (sold separately)

    Safety First

    Keep the following in mind for safety and efficiency purposes

    • Attach the lens' front and rear caps.
    • Lock the zoom lock switch to prevent the zoom ring from moving unexpectedly (SEL2470GM only)
    • Place a soft cloth or pad on your worktable to prevent scratches or slips on the product or work surface.

    Disposal of old parts

    • Properly dispose of the replaced old parts per the regulations in your area.
