What to do if playback stops and an error message stating that the display environment does not support protected content playback?

Playback stops and an error message staing that the display environment does not support protected content playback.

    This symptom occurs if:

    • Users are trying to watch a BD title on an external HDMI or DVI screen that is not equipped with HDCP copy-protection. To resolve this issue, connect an external HDMI or DVI screen that supports HDCP.
    • Users are trying to watch a BD title on two screens at the same time, for e.g., on the notebook's built-in LCD and an external screen configured in clone mode. To resolve this issue, use the Fn+F7 key combination to switch to one single screen.

    Note:

    • Users require a BD-capable drive to playback BD movies. Refer to the online specifications to determine if the VAIO computer is equipped with a BD drive.
    • Before troubleshooting BD playback symptoms, ensure that VAIO Update is performed for the latest updates for the VAIO computer.
