How to configure the display color depth in Display Properties in Windows XP?
Configuring the display color depth in Display Properties in Windows XP.
1. Click Start, and click Control Panel.
2. In the Control Panel window, double-click the Appearance and Themes icon.
3. In the Appearance and Themes window, under pick a Control Panel icon... , click the Display icon.
4. In the Display Properties window, click the Settings tab.
5. On the Settings tab, in the Color quality box, click the down arrow and click to select the desired color depth.
6. In the Display Properties window, click the OK button.
7. In the Monitor Settings window, click the Yes button.
8. Restart the computer.
