Why doesn't the Bluetooth® audio device work after resuming from standby, sleep or hibernation?

Bluetooth® audio device does not work after resuming from standby, sleep or hibernation.

    If unable to maintain a connection with a Bluetooth audio device or the connection is lost after resuming the computer from a low power state, use the following procedure to resolve the issue.

     

    These issues may occur on a computer that uses the Broadcom® Bluetooth stack.

    1. Click the Start button and then click Control Panel.
    2. In the Control Panel window, click Hardware and Sound.
    3. In the Hardware and Sound window, click Bluetooth Devices.
    4. In the Bluetooth Devices window, click the Devices tab and then click Add.
    5. In the Add Bluetooth Device Wizard window, click to check the box next to My device is set up and ready to be found and then click the Next button.
    6. Power on the Bluetooth audio device and configure it for discoverability.

      NOTE: Refer to the documentation of the Bluetooth device for information on how to configure it for discoverability.

    7. On the computer, click to select the appropriate Bluetooth audio device and then click the Next button.
    8. Click to select Use the passkey found in the documentation.
    9. Enter the appropriate passkey and then click the Next button.

      NOTE: Refer to the documentation of the Bluetooth audio device for the proper passkey if it is not known.

    10. Click the Finish button.
    11. In the Bluetooth Devices window, click the Audio tab.
    12. On the Audio tab, click to select the appropriate Bluetooth audio device and then click the Connect button.

      NOTE: If the Bluetooth audio device shows it is already connected, skip this step.

    13. Click the Apply button.
    14. Close the Bluetooth Devices window.
