Why does the VAIO computer keep on showing the Windows Startup Menu?

    After the initial settings of Windows, the following message appears repeatedly and Windows fails to start.

    Err Msg: Sorry but Windows could not start properly (omitted).

    This symptom occurs only when Windows is started for the first time. Please refer to the following

    1. When the problem occurred right after the first startup

    The problem occurs because the initial settings may not have completed during the preparation for using Windows. Please reinstall the system with the recovery CD-ROM.

    If the problem persists even after the execution of recovery, it may be necessary to check the hardware. Please send the machine for our inspection.

    2. If the problem occurred after the user used it for a while

    The damages to the OS core module by forced termination of Windows may be the principal factor for the problem. Please reinstall the system with the recovery CD-ROM.

    If the problem persists after the execution of the system recovery, it may be necessary to check the hardware. Please send the machine for our inspection.

    * Note

    If the reinstallation of the system with the recovery CD-ROM cannot be executred, try the following.

    Remove the AC adaptor and the battery from the machine, and then mount them again. Initialize the setting values of BIOS and then execute the system recovery with the recovery CD-ROM.
