IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check the Applicable Products and Categories section of this article for details.
The CC button on your TV remote control is a multifunction key. You can configure it to control either Closed Captioning (CC) or Audio Description (AD). These features enhance accessibility for TV programs and streaming content by providing subtitles or spoken narration.
- Closed Caption (CC): This key can be used to display Closed Caption (Subtitles) on the screen. Closed Caption (Subtitles) show spoken dialogue and important sound effects, allowing content to be enjoyed regardless of hearing ability.
- Audio Description (AD): Plays audio that describes on-screen visuals and actions. Audio description provides spoken narration of scenes and visual details, allowing content to be enjoyed regardless of visual ability.
The CC button function can be switched using the following steps:
- On the remote control, press the Quick Settings (
or
) button, then select
Settings.
- Select Accessibility.
- Select Use Color correction.
- Select Audio shortcut with CC button.
Notes:
- By default, the CC button controls the Closed Caption (CC) function.
- To switch between Closed Caption (CC) and Audio Description (AD), you need to pair the remote control with the TV using Bluetooth (voice search remote) in advance.
- The function may not be available based on the content you are viewing.
