The method for configuring your TV to use the Enable 3D Audio for TV Speakers setting on the PS5™ depends on whether your TV supports Dolby Atmos.
Select your TV model type from the following.
Note: To check if your TV model supports Dolby Atmos, refer to the manual or the online Help Guide on Sony's support website.
Follow the steps below to change your PS5's Audio Format (Priority) settings to Dolby Atmos.
- On your PS5, select Sound → Audio Output → Audio Format (Priority) → Dolby Atmos
Notes:
- The PS5 supports Dolby Atmos now, so you won't need to set the sound settings on a TV which supports Dolby Atmos.
- If Dolby Atmos does not appear in the PS5's Audio Format (Priority) settings, please refer to the If your TV does not have the Dolby Atmos function section.
Notes:
- You can turn on the Enable 3D Audio for TV Speakers function of the PS5 and the surround function of the TV at the same time, but doing so may make the sound effects overlap, causing the output to sound strange.
- When listening with audio (Bluetooth® speaker, Headphone, Audio System) other than the TV speakers, turn off the Output 3D audio with TV speakers function of the PS5.
- Set Sound Mode to Standard
Note: On some model TVs, you must first set the Sound Mode to Standard before you can set the Surround to Auto. If Sound Mode is not shown, you can skip this step and proceed with step 2 (Set Surround to Auto).
