IMPORTANT: The Noise Canceling function is most effective for low frequency (bass) noise, such noise made by vehicles or air conditioning, but not all sounds can be completely canceled.
Check the following.
Make sure that the Noise Canceling function is turned on.
Follow one of these steps to make sure that the Noise Canceling function is turned on.
Place both sides of the headset in the charging case, leave them for a few seconds, and then remove them from the charging case.
Once removed from the charging case, the Noise Canceling function will be on.
While wearing the headset, tap the L side touch sensor until you hear Noise canceling.
In the default setting, the Ambient Sound Control function changes by tapping the L side touch sensor.
- If the headset does not switch to the Noise Canceling function, try tapping once, more quickly (about 0.3 second). If the contact time between the touch sensor and finger is too long, the mode switches to Quick Attention mode and it does not switch to the Noise Canceling function.
- When the Google Assistant feature is assigned to the headset and you want to use only one side of the headset, use the side with the Google Assistant feature assigned.
Change the settings from the Sony | Headphones Connect app.
Replacing the earbuds
The noise canceling effect is ineffective if the earpiece is not fit in your ear correctly. Select and attach the earbud that allows you to hear the least ambient sounds to each unit.
Be careful of the following when you change the earbuds.
To remove the earbudsDo not pinch the end of the earbud when removing it.
To attach the earbudsFirmly insert the earbuds all the way. Do not attach the earbuds in a loose or skewed manner.
Adjust the headset position to fit your ears.
Twist the headset to slide the earbud deep into your ear.
Rotating it while lightly pulling up the upper part of your ear enables easier insertion.
Make sure that Adaptive Sound Control is turned off.
Check the Adaptive Sound Control settings on the Sony | Headphones Connect app. If Adaptive Sound Control is on, the effects of noise canceling may become weak.
For how to set the Adaptive Sound Control to off, refer to the following image.
- Adaptive Sound Control: ON
- Adaptive Sound Control: OFF
NOTE: Adaptive Sound Control is a function that detects your actions through an app and automatically switches settings of the Ambient Sound Control. Because of this function, the Noise Canceling function may change to the Adaptive Sound Control function, and you may feel that the noise canceling effect is not sufficient.
