The camera takes multiple pictures when pressing the shutter button.

Sony cameras have different drive modes, such as Single Shot, Continuous Shooting, Self-Timer, and Bracketing.

If the camera is set to Continuous Shooting or Burst Mode, it will take multiple pictures with a single press of the shutter button.

Press the Drive Mode button or switch to Drive Mode (usually labeled with a stack of rectangles  or a timer  icon) and switch to Single Shooting mode.

If your camera is in Exposure Bracketing, White Balance Bracketing, or DRO Bracketing, it will take multiple shots.

Navigate to Menu > Camera Settings > Bracket Settings and disable any active bracketing mode or set it to 0.

If the self-timer is enabled, the camera might be set to take multiple shots after a delay.

Press the Drive Mode button or switch to Drive Mode (usually labeled with a stack of rectangles  or a timer  icon) and disable the self-timer or adjust it to take only one shot.

If the shutter button is stuck or overly sensitive, it might register multiple presses.

Gently clean around the shutter button to remove any debris. Try lightly pressing the shutter and see if it still happens.

If the button is physically damaged, you may need to send it for service. Go to Product Repair.

If the issue persists, reset the camera

Make sure your camera is updated to the latest firmware.

Try using the camera in different modes (e.g., Manual, Aperture Priority) to see if the issue persists.

If the problem only occurs in specific modes, it could be related to a setting unique to that mode.

A faulty or slow memory card might cause strange behavior. Try replacing it with a different card.
