The Google Assistant comes up even when I don’t say "Ok Google"

IMPORTANT: This article only applies to specific products and/or operating systems. Please check the Applicable Products and Categories section of this article.

This issue can occur if the phrase Ok Google comes from the TV, for example during a commercial. The TV's Built-in microphone might hear that and react to it.
If this happens, on the remote control, press the BACK button to cancel the Google Assistant ready status.

    Check the TV position setting:

    1. Open the  Settings screen. How to access Settings
    2. Select Sound or Display & Sound, and then select Sound.
    3. Select TV position.
    4. Select Table-Top stand or Wall Mount.

    Notes:

    • When the Accessibility (Screen Reader or TalkBack) setting is on, Google Assistant may also react to the words Ok Google from the TV. To stop the Screen Reader or TalkBack from behaving like this, follow these steps:
      1. Open the  Settings screen. How to access Settings
      2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
        • Select System → Accessibility  Screen reader or TalkBack.
        • Select Device Preferences  Accessibility  Screen reader or TalkBack.
        • Select Accessibility  Screen reader or TalkBack.
      3. Set Enable to Off.
    • If you don't use or don't want to use the Google Assistant, you can follow these steps to disable Google Assistant detection:
      • For Google TV™: Turn off the BUILT-IN MIC SWITCH mounted on the bottom or side of the TV. The position of the BUILT-IN MIC SWITCH is depending on your model.
Position of the BUILT-IN MIC SWITCH on TV
        • A: BUILT-IN MIC SWITCH
        • B: Power
      • For Android TV™:
        1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
        2. Select  Settings.
