How to set Outlook Express as the default e-mail software?

Setting Outlook Express as the default e-mail software.



To set Outlook Express as the default e-mail software, start Outlook Express and click Yes when the following message appears.

Outlook Express is not selected as the default mail client. Do you want to select it as the default mail client?

If the above message does not appear when Outlook Express is started, please follow either of the steps below to make the settings:

A. To set it from Internet Explorer
For Internet Explorer 4.*, Internet Explorer 5.* and Internet Explorer 6.*

1. Right-click the Internet Explorer icon and click Properties.
2. Click the Programs tab.
3. Select Outlook Express.
4. Click OK.

B. To set it from Outlook Express
i. For Outlook Express Ver.4.*

1. Start Outlook Express.
2. From the Tools menu, click Options.
3. Click the General tab.
4. Select the Use Outlook Express as default e-mail program option.
5. Click OK.

ii. For Outlook Express Ver.5.* and Outlook Express Ver.6.*.

1. Start Outlook Express.
2. Click the Tools tab and click Options.
3. Click the General tab.
4. Click Make Default.
Note:
Clicking the Make Default button changes the description to This application is the default Mail handler.
5. Click OK.
